About OCEAN Interior Design

My focus is on being a design partner for homeowners who want to turn a house into a home that uniquely reflects them. Have you watched home improvement shows and you want to do that...but don't know where to start or how to get to your own 'reveal'. We will work together so you can be as involved as you want in the process. Your involvement in the design and improvements will help you feel connected to your home, as well as ensuring it reflects your personality. The level of your involvement and my guidance will depend on your preferences, skills, and time demands. I can provide consultation to get you started, provide coaching throughout the process, design a room for you to implement, or manage the project. In the end, you will have improved design skills and a beautiful home that is uniquely you.

Jen Short, Interior Design Consultant

I started my career as a psychologist, which is a field I still love...but it doesn't offer many opportunities for creativity.  I transitioned to interior design to feed my creativity and love of architecture.  Sound like a big change?  Not as big as you may think.  There is a large field of study in psychology about design and how people interact with their environments.  In my design process, I consider the psychology of who you are and how you react to your home as a fundamental foundation of your design.  I believe that your home should be a true reflection of who you are and function for you. The beauty of your home design is the result of a process that focuses on so much more than beauty.

With a doctorate in psychology, I have experience measuring personality and, at OCEAN Interior Design, I apply my understanding of personality and people to designing homes that are uniquely tailored to you.
